Sharp Healthcare
San Diego, CA
A new facility incorporating the latest medical technologies for ambulatory outpatient care is under construction in San Diego for Sharp Healthcare. The Sharp Memorial Hospital Ambulatory Care Center will be a 5-story, 122,000-square-foot example of the finest in health care services. The Center will house a wide range of facilities, including a cancer center, a community resource center, women's and outpatient imaging centers, an ambulatory surgery center, a pain control center, a special procedures unit, and an eye-laser treatment center.
State-of-the-art doesn't begin to describe this newest Sharp facility, and complex doesn't begin to describe University's scope of work. We are performing all of the sheet metal, plumbing, and piping work for the project, including installing medical gas outlets, zone valves, and piping for nitrous oxide, oxygen, medical air, medical vacuum, and waste gases. We also are connecting a number of specialized pieces of medical equipment, such as sterilizers, medical air compressors, and the medical vacuum system.
Our fabrication crews have been staying busy prefabricating the chilled water lines that will run to and from VAV (variable air volume) boxes as well as all of the carriages for the lab facilities and the supports for the roof duct.
The Sharp Memorial Hospital Ambulatory Care Center, which will be completed by the end of the year, will be another feather in the cap of a hospital that is already widely known and respected for its outstanding health care programs.
